Clearing up

Last week, I cleared the front path of moss, leaves and the general detritus that accumulates when no-one bothers to clear up for a long time. (I blame Anna - she isn't doing that kind of work any more, and that gives me a kind of permission not to do it either, on equality grounds). Today, I did the same for the back of the house, and burnt a huge pile of leaves as well as some old wooden furniture that had been waiting for a trip to the skip. Tomorrow, I shall get the high-pressure hose out and find that the back of the house is surrounded by pale concrete, not black, soil-stained mossy, slippery cack.

Getting the furniture and the wet leaves to combust required a whole gallon of diesel, but it was worth it.
