If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.

Comments Policy

Word verification is turned off for the time being.  If the spam returns, so will the anti-spam artillery.  For now, feel free to comment as you wish.

One of the great things about having a blog is the opportunity to converse with a huge and various audience, and I welcome comments.  If you've got something to say, feel free and, in Bucko's words, "Go nuts!"  I understand that some people might want to comment anonymously, but your words carry more weight with me if you are prepared to put your name (or a pseudonym that will relate consistently to your other contributions) to what you say.  In any case your email address is never displayed, even to me.

I believe in free speech, and therefore I am reluctant to moderate comments here.  Say what you like.  I will only moderate comments that are either gratuitously offensive or potentially libellous.  Commercial spam will always be deleted.  Always.  I don't need the few pence that advertising would bring me, and I don't need new friends.  If you are interested in an exchange of links, email me and we can discuss it.  If you want me to host a link to your Chinese shoe-selling operation or your wonderful source of replica watches, don't bother.

Blogger doesn't seem to like posts containing URL links, and sometimes sends them to the spam bin.  If you have commented, and your comment fails to appear, drop me an email (address on 'Contact' page) and I will have a rummage around and find it.  Comments on posts over 14 days old get sent for moderation in any case, so I will catch those when I am next logged in.
